Structure, technological properties and weldability of B-1341 (Al-Mg-Si) sheets

The test results of sheets made of B-1341 alloy, developed on the base of Al-Mg-Si system and alloys modified by Ca are given in the present paper. The crystallographic textyre, microstructure, shaping ability during the cooling strain have been strudied along with the weldability of sheets of 1,5 mm in thickness.

    The test results of rolled and extruded semifinished products of B-1469-T1 alloy are given in the present paper. B-1469 alloy based on Al-Cu-Li-Mg-Ag system is the aluminium wrought, heat-strengthened, lowdensity, high-strength and corrosion-resistant alloy

      Effect of the deformation on Al-Mg-Si-Cu-Zn alloy mechanical and corrosion properties after hardening and ageing conditions

      The effect of deformation types and ageing conditions on the structure, mechanical properties and intercrystalline corrosion (ICC) susceptibility has been studied for 1370 (Al-Mg-Si-Cu-Zn) plates. The plate deformation was carried out between hardening and artificial ageing by means of rolling and stretching processes, including the joint process (rolling+stretching). It was stated, that ICC susceptibility of the alloys of the pointed system can be significantly reduced with the use of the definite ageing conditions at the overageing stage. However, in this case the alloy strength characteristics are considerably decreased and besides the pittings of 0,16-0,28 mm in depth are appeared. The use of low-temperature thermomechanical treatment along with the optimization of ageing conditions allowed to reduce the 1370 plate susceptibility to ICC with the retention of the high level of alloy strength properties.

        Effect of corrosion medium on the fatigue crack growth rate in aluminium alloys

        The fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR), as the standard material characteristic, is determined in air under the laboratory conditions, as for the natural conditions the fatigue crack is propogated under the effect of the ambient corrosion medium which leads to decreasing the material endurance and cyclic safety factors. The effect of corrosion medium on FCGR of Al alloys, including Al-Li alloys have been also studied.

          Study of hot isostatic pressing effect on the single-crystal casting microporosity of carbon-free superalloys

          The paper is dedicated to the study of the morphology and volumetric fracture of micropores in the single crystals of Re-containing carbon-free ЖС36-ВИ and ВЖМ5-ВИ superalloys, as well as their changing in the process of heat treatment and hot isostatic pressing (HIP). The microporosity effect on basic strength characteristics of these alloys, in particular, long- and short-term strength and multicycle fatigue was also examined.

            Determination of superalloy fatigue strength by the loading step change method

            The procedure for determining the average value of a material endurance limit was represented by two methods, including the loading step change ("ladder" method) and the least square methods. The distinctions were revealed between the pointed methods. The good convergence of average values was shown for Ni-base superalloy endurance limit determined by both methods at the temperatures of 850 and 1000°C. The application of loading step change method is the single possibility for determining the given characteristic with any indestructible probability in case of materials, possessing the physical endurance limit.

              Production features of polymer composites with the integrated actuator system based on piezoelements

              Various types of piezoelectrical actuator elements and the basic technology aspects for integrating the solid-body actuator into the polymer composite were considered with the goal of changing the structure material geometry and rigidity during the service, as well as various types of actuator electrical connections inserted into the polymer structures.

                Effect of carbon nanotube structural features upon the nanocomposite radioscreening and electroconducting properties

                The carbon nanotube characteristics аre determined along with the aspect relation, i. e. the functional groups amount on the nanocomposite surface and its radioscreening properties with regard to the nanotube structural features throughout the whole volume. The structure, elements of which include the lattices of intersecting carbon nanotubes is considered as the optimum one from the viewpoint of achieving the maximum electromagnetic radiation weakening over the radio range. In this case it's possible to obtain the electromagnetic attenuation factor (at the frequency of 10 GHz for nanocomposite specimens of 2 mm in thickness) at the level of 20 dB with the carbon nanotube concentration of 3% by weight.
